Fiji’s largest state-of-the-art 130-bed specialty private hospital has the most affordable consultation charges anytime of the day or night, 365 days-a-year.
Founded by medical academic Parvish Kumar with a small and compact yet highly advanced specialty hospital in Suva in 2016, Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH Hospitals) has recently been making headlines in local and international media for all the good reasons.
Located opposite the Nadi International Airport in Legalega, Nadi, PSH Hospitals now has a GP consultation charge of only $11.50 per patient for general consultations while the nation’s 10,500 sugarcane farmers who are registered with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) loyalty programme will pay only $7.50 for similar services.
The reduced offer is also available for all other farmers of Fiji in the various agricultural sectors as long as they provide their local farming association membership card or a statutory declaration for verification purposes.
“So whether the patient is a dalo farmer, a pineapple farmer, pine landowner or a livestock farmer, as long as they are able to verify that, we will offer them the heavily subsidized rate of $7.50 per GP consultation,” PSH Hospitals founder and chief executive officer Parvish Kumar said.
PSH Hospitals Nadi which was officially opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka in July 2023 has already been a trendsetter in transforming Fiji’s medical services to world-class levels by executing many complex treatments such as open-heart surgeries and brain tumour surgeries and has the most affordable charges to make health services more accessible to the general public.
“Our ultimate goal is to make medical services affordable and accessible to all members of the public not only in Fiji but the greater Pacific community,” Mr Kumar added.
He said apart from the heavily reduced general consultation charges, PSH Hospitals will go a step further in assisting patients who are unable to afford complex treatments by introducing easy payment options.
“No other private facility in the Pacific region is offering such incentives but here at PSH Hospitals we care about saving precious lives and making healthcare more affordable,” Mr Kumar said.
“To make cutting edge medical services more accessible to Fiji and the greater Pacific community, we are in the process of launching more innovative solutions through which patients who are completely unable to afford medical procedures that are costly will be treated for free upon meeting the criteria required.”
